Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal
Notre-Dame Basilica of Montréal
A National Historic Site of Canada, the Notre-Dame Basilica of Montréal is a major attraction in Quebec – found in the Old Montréal district. This incredible church features some of the world's finest Gothic Revival architecture.
The site of the basilica dates back to 1672 when the Church of Notre-Dame was first built. By the early 1800s, a new building was needed to accommodate the congregation, and 19 years of construction later, the basilica was open.
Visitors may choose from the standard 20-minute guided tour, or the in-depth 90-minute Grand Tour of Notre-Dame Basilica. Be sure to bring your camera to capture the Casavant Freres pipe organ.
